EDMR
EMDR is a structured, trauma-focused therapeutic approach that uses guided bilateral stimulation to help process distressing memories, emotional triggers, and overwhelming experiences in a safer, healthier way.

EMDR is designed to help the brain safely reprocess traumatic memories, distressing experiences, and emotional triggers that may continue affecting thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and physical reactions long after an event has passed.
During an EMDR-informed session, we focus on a specific memory, belief, trigger, or emotional response while using guided bilateral stimulation such as eye movements, tapping, or other rhythmic left-right techniques. This process supports the brain’s natural ability to process unresolved experiences in a safer and more adaptive way.
You remain fully aware and in control throughout the session. Most people can still remember what happened after treatment, but the memory no longer carries the same emotional intensity, fear, panic, or physical overwhelm.
EMDR may help with trauma, PTSD, childhood experiences, sexual trauma, anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, intrusive thoughts, emotional triggers, grief, and nervous system dysregulation. Over time, many clients notice reduced emotional reactivity, improved emotional stability, and a greater sense of calm, safety, and control in everyday life.
